Packet lost on 2600 router with VPN

Hi,

I have a Cisco 2600C router with 3des encryption modules, and I use it to create a VPN tunnel to another computer.
since last week I get constant packet loss of 10%-5%
when I've shut down the tunnel and tried ping or trace there were none lost.

I think it's somnthing with the router, any idea what?

When you do a standard ping from a DOS prompt, you only send 32 byte packets. Try pinging with a larger packet size and see if they drop. You can do this with the "-l" switch, as in "ping 10.10.10.10 -l 1234".

If you are getting packet loss with larger packets, then go back to your trace-routes and see where they're getting dropped. If you have access to any switches along the path, check out port statistics and see what you can glean from them.
