my mother in law was given a packard bell computer that had been wiped out and not restored, is there any way I can use my windows 98 discs for a hewlett packard to restore it, or do you know where I can download the windows 95 system restore software she needs? She's about to drive me bonkers with that think, so any help would be so appreciated.

No, you can't use the HP stuff. Setup will upchuck because the hardware check won't like PB.
You probably can put a standard 95 on the machine, maybe even 98 if it has enough memory and large enough a hard drive.
You could look on ebay. Sometimes the PB versions will be listed.
