hi
i also asked my question in this thread616-277750
i was just wodering if any one ever been "auto shutdown" ?
this has happened to me twice
losing data.. (win2k create a FOUND.00x folder..)

- is anybody know if there is a auto-shutdown on cpu overheat?
- if so is there a "datafile" or something telling me what is going on?
- can it be the VideoCard fault ? (has a fan)
- on win2k is there a "datafile" for shutdown events ?
like something like this :
date : action
02/01/01 : clicked shutdown button
02/01/02 : pulled the switch
etc...

thanks a lot

Check in the BIOS for an auto-shutdown option. You should be able to set it to a higher temperature or switch it off.
The CPU has an inbuilt thermal diode as well so will throttle the speed automatically if it's overheating. Check all the fans to make sure they're working.
