I have a client using exchange 2000 with outlook 2000. They have one rep who wants to access his email when on road or at home.

Is there a version of Outlook web access which will work? or is there any alternative software?

Yes, Outlook Web Access is a component of Exchange Server 2000. It is on the Exchange CD.
