I am running OWA on a NT 4.0 domain. We have a relitivly small network with three servers (pdc, exchagne, proxy). There is a small group of 6 users that will use OWA to access their email becuase they work from home.

I created the users and mailboxes on the network. I gave them a default password that will prompt them to change it as soon as they log on. However when they change their password it won't allow them to do it. The Internet Service Manager window pops up as normal, they enter their user name, old and new password, then click OK and it just sits there and does nothing. Eventually the page times out and the link in the address bar is https ://mail.mydomain.com/_AuthChangeUrl?http ://mail.mydomain.com/exchange/USA/logon.asp

However when I change the account to not prompt for a password change they log on fine.

Can someone let me know what might be the problem? Please be specific as possible, I am not familiar with web administration (naturally that person is out on vacation for another week).

Matt

You have to install a certificate to use SSL port 443. The password change then will be active. Check your IIS 4.0 for SSL connections.
