I am having a problem with my Exchange server.

I have:
Exchange 2003 Server (sans SP1)
Windows 2000 Server SP4

I have had problems like this before where all the stuff loads (pictures, etc) but the main window pane says Loading... and never changes.

I have been through the Troubleshooting Outlook Web Access document inside and out to no avail. I have been through Microsoft's KB article 280823 multiple times with no resolution to my problem. I don't have URLScan installed so I know that that is not a problem.

Here's a screenshot of what I see after logging in.

I have been contemplating installing Exchange 2003 SP1 but didn't want to complicate things more than necessary.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Enhanced security. Are you trying to get to OWA on your server 2003. IE Enhanced Security can be a pain in the ...

Yeah... exchange server 2003

Is there any way to alleviate this problem?

I would install Exchange SP1...first you will need to install Q831464 which is an IIS 6.0 compression issue resolution that can cause display issues with OWA. Another, issue could be your AntiVirus solution. If you install Trend Micro CSM to the default web site it can cause display issues with OWA too.

A number of firewalls and content filters can cause this problem. Is there a one of these between you and your OWA server?

Well, I can install exchange SP1 but since I have IIS 5.0, not 6.0, the Q831464 patch isn't necessary right?

My AV solution is actually none at all. We have Norton Mail Security running on that machine as well as Brightmail Anti-spam but no actual AV client running on the box.

I have a Fortinet firewall but I have problems accessing OWA directly. My content filter is running on a completely separate server.

None of this stuff has caused a problem before so don't know why it would matter now.

Thanks for all your help. I appreciate the run-through. It's harder to remember everything I need to think about when I'm running in about 8 different directions at once.

Applying SP1 fixed the problem. Hopefully it's permanent.
