OWA Error number: 5 Password Change

Hello! I was wondering if anyone might know what Error number: 5 translates to when you try to change your password in OWA on Exchange 2003. We have the feature working, but some users get this error and I have not found much about specific error meanings.

Since some users work and other do not, I thought maybe it was a permissions problem, but it seems everything is setup okay.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Are you changing passwords the same day the account is created?

I believe SP1 seemed to have fixed our problem..... I will check with one of our guys to make sure and post it ASAP for you if that is not it....

We do have Exchange SP1 and Win2k3 SP1 installed.

Nsanti...I tried to change my password as well as a test account through OWA and got that error message. Both accounts were created a long time ago

As a sidenote... Before receiving the Error 5 message I was receiving "Object required" error message when I would try to change a password in OWA.I found this article

I registered the .dll file like the article said...and now I get Error 5 when trying to change the password

Looks like I got it to work...



First of all, I forgot that I set the Password Policy to have a minimum password age of 30 days. So the account I created had a new password and it couldnt be changed for 30 days (D'oh). I set the minimum password age to 1 day. Also, in the iisadmpwd virtual directory, I checked Integrated Windows authentication box in Directory Security. Both of those fixes seem to work
