Overriding Access is denied

An advertisement program downloaded itself from the internet and is slowing up my computer to the point that it is unusable. I found the file, but when I try to delete it, it gives me an Access is denied error. How do I override this?

I am the administrator.

never mind i got it, the folder I wanted to delete had two programs running symultaniously, if I ended one the other one would start it up again, pretty clever, but if you end the process and delete it really fast, it doesn't have time to start up again.
