overlay layers

Probably a stupid question, but i searched the forum, but couldn't find anything.
What i want is to put 2 layers( or tables) partially over eachother, or at least against eachother. The problem is that i always have a gap betweem the tables, how can i solve this ?

put your tables inside layers and you can overlap to your hearts content

Thanx for your reply. It is already a long time ago, and still i'm fooling around. What i dont get, is how ik can put 2 images partially over each other. I can make 2 layers, but still i cant put 2 cells on each other, even they are on different layers.. What about that "z-score"?? do i have to change that?? I tried last months so much, i don't know anymore what to try.
I looked, but is there somewhere a tutorial about making layers?????? Oh, i hope someone can help me again ......

Why are you trying to overlay images? Might be worth just making them into one image in Fireworks or some other graphics package The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.

i understand what you mean. I have no particulair problem right now. But i want to learn working with layers in dreamweaver. I dont understand them :-( Is it possible what i want ??

Second question. background-image only once. So i made a css, with no-repeat. But how can i apply the css to the background? draging or something like that is not working... I know, i sound like an idiot, but want too learn it
