I have a problem with Outlook2000.
I opened outlook2000 and came out the Outlook2000 logo.
After the Outlook2000 hang there.
I can't go inside the Outlook2000.
I already tried to uninstall Office2000 and installed again.
I only can run Ms.Excel and Ms.Word 2000, but Outlook2000 still hang.
Please help.
Thanks

ady2k,

This is common. Outlook 2000 has a built-in feature that sometimes scans your PST for errors at startup (usually because it detected one or was shutdown improperly last time).

The next time you open Outlook, check your hard drive light and see if it's on solid or flashing. Chances are that it's currently doing something in the background. You have to be patient and wait. The amount of time depends on the size of your Personal Folder. As long as the hard drive is making noise, I would just let it sit at the logo until it opens. I've seen this take 45 minutes before...

Let me know what happens

Is there a profile that has been created for Outlook? Check under the Conrol Panel through the Mail icon. If there is a profile see what SERVICES are installed for the profile. joegz

When looking at the profile, go into the properties for the personal folders (again, I'm assuming that you have one).

- Start->Settings->Control Panel->Mail (or Mail and Fax)
- double-click Personal Folders

If it locks up here, then you know there's a problem with the PST file associated with your profile. Usually, Outlook 2000 can repair most problems automatically if given enough time to open. However, the severe ones require you to run the "inbox repair tool".
