Hi guys,

Has anyone ever run into this behavior before?

My son uses Outlook 2K at work with Exchange 2K server. I use Outlook XP at home with Verizon's SMTP/POP3 servers. When ever my son sends an email with an attachment from his work account, I do not receive the attachments. If others are copied on the same email, they DO receive the attachments.

I know Outlook XP blocks access to attachments considered to be dangerous, such as exe's but I do not believe this is the case. This is happening with any type of attachment such as zip files, jpeg's, bmp's, etc. Also, when Outlook blocks access, there is a notification that it was blocked in the banner of the email. There is none in this case. I AM able to receive attachments such as jpeg's and BMP's from other sources.

Any ideas?

[tt]Double check with Verizon to see if you have a byte size restriction on emails. Ask your son to send a notepad document with your name on it then to send a word document in the same manner and see.

Have your son do a test message changing the format to plain text and see if it makes a difference. joegz

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

I know Verizon does have a limit but it is pretty generous. We're talking about small (< 1 MB) files here. I can get big files from other sources with no problem so I don't think Verizon is the culprit.

We've tried plain text, Word docs, jpeg's, BMP's. All the same.

He thinks it's me because others get the attachments. I think it's their server because I get attachments from others. I just can't find anything solid to point to.

Thanks again for the help.
