Outlook XP multiple account sending problem!

Ok folks, here is my scenario

We are running MSExchange 5.5 as our internal mail server. It is connected thru a Linux box to our ISP. The Linux provides a firewall for our internal network (Win2K). In outlook XP we set up 2 accounts 1 for the POP3 on Linux box and 1 for the Exchange server.

My problem is this: When I try to forward a message that was received from an internal email source that the Exchange Server recognizes, it sets my default 'from account' to the Exchange server. The result of this is that the Exchange Server is trying to send an external mail to an internal address resulting in the preverbial 'The recipient name is not recognized' error.

How can I get Outlook to use the POP3 address as the default sending account on Forwarded emails - it works fine on new emails, and replys. I do NOT want Outlook to send via exchange.

I have made sure that the POP3 address is set as the default in the accounts setup/maintenance.

The kicker is, we don't remember having this problem until we upgraded to Outlook XP from Outlook 2000.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks,
Don
