I am being driven mad by this one.

About 50% of the time I send my mail for it to be returned to me with the following message that is locally generated by my system:
--------------
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: FW: Your web site
Sent: 02/05/2003 11:43

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'alex@centralcrafts.com' on 02/05/2003 11:43
550 5.7.1 Service not available: alex@centralcrafts.com
-----------------

On receipt of the message I can sometimes re-send it or forward it from the 'Sent Box'. More often I cannot send it for some time and then suddenly the system will accept transmission without problem. I can see no pattern with the type of mail etc.

I am using Office and Windows XP Professional and Outlook for my e-mail. It is set up for two POP accounts with the DSL supplied account as the default.

Thank you for your help.

Are you using an Exchange server? That is a relay error that is appearing. Like you are using an Exchange server but not using the Exchange Service in lieu of POP.

Dear Joegz,

Many thanks for your quick reply, but no, I am not using Exchange Server. I am using a small home network and do not have it installed.

The curious fact is that the rejection is intermittent - about 60% of the time I get the fault appearing. I discover that I am not having any problems whatsover with Outlook Express - so far.

Many thanks again.
