Outlook with Verizon

I have installed Verizon DSL and configured my Verizon email accounts. When I configured my Outlook accounts to use the Verizon accounts I was able to receive emails. However I can not send emails. I called Verizon and they remote controlled into my pc and said that the settings were configured properly. Verizon was able to send and receive emails using my Outlook Express but could not explain why the regular Outlook didn't work. I updated my Office updates from Microsoft but Outlook still will not send emails. Does anyone have any ideals to help me.

If the settings are the same with both e-mail clients, I would expect them both to work the same. One thing that might affect function is a virus scanner that is acting on Outlook, but not OE (or vice-versa).
