I'm not sure if this is an exchange problem or outlook itself. But it started about a month ago. On some machines, when I close outlook, it just hangs, and has the "outlook is closing" bar there, but will not complete close unless i go into task manager and end the task. I thought it was just outlook itself, but then it slowly started happening to more machines...

Could it be something in exchange that would cause it to do this? Like something is holding it from closing?
I know there were issues with having outlook 2003 and exchange 5.5, but I downloaded all updates from microsoft..

It only happens on certain machines and not all, but slowly, it starts rolling over to other machines.

Please help...

I'm using exchange 5.5 and outlook 2000, or 2003 on certain machines.. It seems to be hanging on MS 2000 professional machines.

Thanks in advance..

Got exactly the same problem!!
Have to ctrl alt del to end task...

Yes, we're are now experiencing this also. What we have noticed (and this may be coincidental) is that users who run Outlook2003 on one machine and Outlook2000 on a different machine have problems closing the Outlook2000.

We have exchange5.5 sp4 with the CDO hotfix. This fix resolved issues we had on OWA after Outlook2003 users tried to access the OWA. There is another hotfix for problems on the information store after Outlook2003 users change rules that I have not applied yet -- I don't think it applies to this thread's problem.
