Outlook, verizen DSL and Windows 2000

I setup a windows 2000 server environment and installed outlook 2000.

This is a Verizon DSL environment.

The problem is, I opened outlook and was receiving email and 2 emails took about 20 minutes to come in. this was the 4th and 7th email out of 53. As you know my client asked me why this was taking so long?

I think it may have been the DSL, but I have set up DSL in other locations and the mail came in very fast.

This environment has 4 computers connected to the server through a linksys router.

Does anyone have an idea of what may be the problem?

first thing i would check is verizon status, they are down often. I use them at home, also you can check the emails at netmail.verizon.net
maybe forward them to your account and see what gives.
