We have a user who has over 500 e-mails in his inbox and right now his mail is stored on the server. I was thinking of configuring outlook to store his e-mail on the local hard drive. This way he can read his e-mail faster. It's taking to long to read his email. If I store his .pst file on his hard drive will exchange keep a copy of it. How does it snychronize the mail. I run backups every night and I need to make sure that no mail is lost.

Thank you,

JacquelineH

Why doesn't he just add a personal folder and he can move some of his mail from the Exchange server to the .pst file. You don't necessaily have to move all of the mail to a .pst Reasons like this is why our Exchange administrators have set size limits to the mailboxes so it forces clients to use personal folders to save mail.

If you choose the option to have the messages delivered to a .pst file instead of the mailbox on the Exchange server there will be no copy left on the Exchange server. joegz
