outlook status bar => # of mails

Hello,

I am using Outlook 2000 on Windows 2000 and got the following question. In the status bar on the bottom of the screen, you normally see the number of mails that are in the box that is selected. But right now I only see the status bar but not how many items a box contains. Do you know how to solve this?
