Outlook Profile not roaming correctly

Hi,

It looks like our Outlook Profiles are not roaming with the roaming profiles.

Whenever a user logs into a different PC, the outlook profile is copied to 'Backup X of outlook profile' where X is an incremental code. The default profile stays with the new blank profile.

so, signatures and any data files (psts) on their H: drive disappear.

What the hell is going on!?

Can people verify that they';re running roaming profile users with the outlook profile roaming correctly.

So far, have tried removing all Group policy's for my test user - no change to behaviour.

The .srs files are piling up in the profile directory on the file server!?

So you've got Windows roaming profiles but the Outlook profile is not roaming with it? Confirm that the Windows profile is listed as roaming first off.

Then ask why you are using PST files (secondary consideration but hey).

Users all have an exchange account (configured once only on first login with an Office custom maintenance wizard CMW file)

I don't encourage use of PSTs, but I don't ban them.

The windows profile is roaming. In fact all the old Outlook profiles are available on each machine I login to.

When I log in, and go to control pane->Mail->show profiles. All is normal.

But, when I start outlook, then look at the profiles again - the latest has been renamed to 'Backup 7 of outlookprofile' and the new outlookprofile is one with basic settings - ie the settings/config applied with my CMW file. It seems to be re-running the CMW configuration when I click the outlook icon!

OK, well it's nothing to do with Roaming Profiles, then.
I have done the following:
X user logs in. CMW installs/configures Outlook.
Add PST/signature to outlook.
Logout
X user logs in again. Verify PST/sig are still there.
Logout
Another user logs in.
Logout
X user logs in again. PST/sig missing!
Control Panel->Mail->show profiles - shows BACKUP OF MYCO_OUTLOOK and MYCO_OUTLOOK
Starting outlook with profile BACKUP OF MYCO_OUTLOOK - PST/sig are there!
But MYCO_OUTLOOK is with default settings.


Why the hell is Office reconfiguring outlook - but only when someone else logged into the machine previously.
