I've got a user complaining that on exit Outlook complains that there are still messages in the outbox.

These are messages that are indeed sending and getting marked a sent in her outbox, yet Outlook complains on exit.

Any way to turn off the complaining or to make sent items auto-delete from her outbox?

This is a new problem on a previously stable installation

Thanks much!

Hard to say, messages that stay in the outbox is common but has many reasons.
Just a few questions :
-Which version of Outlook?
-Does it do it with every new message the usre writes or just a glitch with a few specific messages?
-Have you tried manually deleting and re-testing the account?
-Finally, have you tried creating a new email account (just reconfigure it) to see if the glitch goes away?

Finally, read what dear Outlook help has to say on "My messages remain in my Outbox and are not sent"

Thanks for replying.

It's outlook 2000

I haven't tried deleting accounts or creating test accounts. That's a good idea.

I did read what outlook has to say in the help and they suggest the error will only happen when the user is working offline (which is never in our case).

I'm at the point of wanting to reinstall completely as when outlook is running the whole machine slows down. I'll test your ideas first, though. (part 2 coming soon)
