I run outlook 2000 to pick up POP3 emails. I would like to somehow write a macro to produce an out of office assistant. Would any one know how to do this. I would use the in biult feature but i think it only works with MS exchange servers rather than pop3.

Many Thanks

You are correct that the Out-Of-Office assistant only works with the Exchange service. However, you can emulate it to some degree using Rules And Alerts by automatically sending a reply using a mail template.

Start with a new blank rule and walk through the wizard and it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out.

Hope this helps.
