I forgot what is needed to run Outlook (2000) on Citrix (XPe, FR3) with multiple users.
You know, that everyone gets their own mailbox.
Can anyone remind me?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

A local or roaming profile and not a mandatory one!

You can use Newprof.exe to create a link to your Exchange Servers but usually the user knows how to configure Outlook.

Also, I'd recommend putting all your Exchange Servers server name and ip address in hosts and lmhosts so that Outlook can resolve the server name faster than just using DNS/WINS.

Before now I've ran Winmsg.cmd from the Application Compatibility Scripts, that is, if you are using them, don't know if it helps or not but just do it!

Hope this helps,
Carl.

Ogi,

Thanks for your reply.
Hmm, the tip on the hosts files looks nifty, never heard of that one before. Does that help noticably much?

Using roaming profiles isn't enough I'm affraid. I posted this question on another forum as well and they came up with the tool I was looking for: termsrvr.mst from the resource kit.

Hi,

Yes it will allow Outlook to "talk" quicker to your Exchange server.

As for the termsrvr.mst file, why didn't you say you wanted to install Outlook not run it!

Cheers,
Carl.

You're right about that, I could have been more clear.
Anyway, thanks for the tips.
