I installed Office 2007 this year, regretfully. To compound my poor judgement, I made the stupid mistake of switching over from Thunderbird Mozilla mail to Outlook mail. Then I started to experience a problem that never occurred with Tbird - when I download advertizing types of email from merchants (Macy's, CompUSA, etc) I get a page full of empty boxes with x's in even smaller boxes dotting the page. Next to each x in a box is a message - "right click to download pictures - to protect your privacy outlook has prevented download of pictures from the internet".

I find this very annoying and then with this extremely unintuitive menu reorganization with Office 2007, I simply cannot find the menu item to reset this option so outlook DOES NOT protect me from pictures.

To add insult to insult, when I click on the mouseover balloon to download the forbidden pictures - sometimes they download and sometimes they do not. And more and more it is NOT. Then the next choice is to find somewhere to click on the email that brings me to a webpage to try to find out what I cannot see in the "pictures" I am so well protected from seeing.

What a piece of crap! Any help would be appreciated to change this optional lack of pictures (the images to be downloaded with the email).

Incidentally - if you google "I hate Office 2007" you get websites to visit that offer menu addons to go back to the classic menu. Are any of theses menu addons free?

I had this problem some time ago. Someone suggested that the allotted space for saved e-mail was "full", so I deleted some obsolete saved e-mails and compressed the rest, and was then able to download pictures again.

Go to Tools ->Trust Center and select Automatic Download and select which pictures/images you want to allow to be downloaded.

Hope this helps.
