Hello all,

At home, we're using OE as a household and I also use Outlook. Some details for this question:

OE: smith@ourisp.com
Outlook: cooper@ourisp.com

Someone here wanted to backup our email and in doing so, we have ended up with the OE Inbox in Outlook. How do we get it out?

In backing up he exported the OE inbox, and thought it was going to a file, not realising it was going to Outlook. There are already inconsistencies with some of his mail showing up in Outlook and not OE, which is not good.

Thanks

M

First, search for *.dbx, and *.pst. Copy any found to a safe place, (i.e. c:\safe).

You should be able to delete the OE Inbox that was exported to Outlook by right clicking and deleting.

OE should be independent of Outlook and vice versa, when it comes to data.

By the way, you can just backup OE and Outlook by copying the dbx and pst files to a safe folder, then burn them to cd or whatever.

Matt J.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
