I work in a real estate property management comapany, they have no database and everything is hand written! Can I use Outlook as a contact management tool, and I need to set up something to track who I call etc

Could someone give me some help

thanks

Definitly! That is what I use. (although, ACT! is probably a better choice if you are interested in options). I don't know what you need to know about Outlook, but with Outlook, you can track all of your contact information, tasks, calendar, email and notes. You can also attach tasks and calendar items to contacts (emails are automatically attached). And then veiw all activities attached to a contact by going to the activities tab when you have a contact record open. Hope that helps. Please feel free to ask more specific questions if you need more help. Dawn

Hi Dawn, tahnks for that, what about new leads who come in to view land, we have an excel spreadsheet that we use for that, but it would be great to have some user define fields. Do you know how to set those up?

Hans

also is it possible to print out an end of day report in regard to how many telephone calls i have made and received?

Hello hcubed,
I agree with dawnd3, based on your needs I would suggest you look seriously at ACT! ( In particular I would look at ARES for ACT!(
Out of the box ACT! is able to do what you need. That is track prospects with regards to how many phonecalls, meetings, to-do's were required to move a prospect contact to a current buyer. In addition there are a number of prebuilt reports that can be run to show the information you need.

Now, that is not to say that Outlook could not do what you need. However, my experience has been that creating a customized Outlook solution is definitely more difficult than creating a customized ACT! solution.

Finally, ACT! can use Outlook as the e-mail client for messages. Perhaps the best of both worlds.

I use ACT! daily in my own business and have created custom ACT! solutions for my clients.

Regards,
Michael
