Hi All
your help and guidance will be very much appreciated in assiting me to do the following:
-- How can i move inbox messages, send messages in an out look express
to another PC running outlook 2003
--where does out look express store folder and under which name?
-- any precautions
Thanks

Serge9

I don't think I can answer all your questions because I don't use Outlook, but I do know how to find out where your message store is in Outlook Express. Go to Tools/Options and click the Maintenance tab and then the 'Store Folder' button. You can then see the current location. You can then navigate to this folder (it's probably hidden) using Windows Explorer, and back it up. Outlook stores everything in a .pst file which should be backed up also. I think you can import your messages straight into Outlook, but I have never tried it. I would imagine it will overwrite whatever is already there.

I hope this helps,

Roger

Thank you Roger
I were able to navigate to the inbox location
C:\Documents and Settings\serge9\Local settings\Application Data\Identities\{430582??-5FBD-46FF-B6D8-13B720BA8A47}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
i will try it, but as you said it will over write the in box messages in outlook2003 as all inbox messages are store in one .pst file

great help

?
the file name is Inbox.dbx
could not locate .pst file

thanks serge9

I'm not sure about Outlook 2003 but I think previous versions of Outlook stored everything in a single .pst file, whereas Outlook express has many .dbx files and a few .log files which make up the message store. I doubt if you can export from OE to Outlook; you will need to import the OE message store into Outlook 2003. Is there any help on this in Outlook?
