Outlook Express on peer to peer network

I have 2 W2K systems connected on a peer to peer network. One machine has Imaging software and files the other has email and internet. Both machines are at the same software level. File sharing and printer sharing work fine but I want to be able to run Outlook Express V6 from the imaging machine through the network to access email. When I run the exe file from the remote machine OE just opens a blank unconfigured identity. Is it possible to access my mail this way?
