when I try to open outlook express it immediately disconnects me from the internet. I tried uninstalling the updates from 6 and then ver 6 itself. I'm back to version 5 and the same thing happens. Anybody else ever seen this??

Gloryhound->> From the explanation that you have given, it sounds like it could be one of two things. Your computer has multiple connections (Check Dial up Networking). Another possability is that Outlook Express is set to "Hang up, After Send and Receive."

Open OE
Click on tools on the pull down menu and then select options
Select the connection tab, about halfway down you should see the option for "Hang up, After Send and Receive," remove the check mark and select "ok."

Let me know how it works..

Ok Fixed my own problem.. Thanks for the advice BadDawg, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was that in the account setup for default Connection the field was reporting nothing, so if you were opening OE and already connected it would bump you off in favour of it's 'default' connection type which was nothing. If any on you run into this problem go:
tools -> Accounts ->default account ->connection tab
Ensure this tab is set correctly or not to blank

Again thanks BadDawg

Err I made a mistake on that last post it goes:
Tools -> Accounts -> Default account -> properties
-> Connection tab

Set the correct setting and try again.

Yep. That would have worked 2.. Didnt think of that.
