Outlook express contacts disappear

I have had 2 or three users running win2k pro on a win2k domain have their contact list in outlook express disappear. Could find no explicit reason for this. If you do a search for *.wab on their hard drives or users folders, you find nothing. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what caused it?
