Outlook Express - Cannot Read Mail

I am running Outlook Express on Win 2000 Pro.
I can receive my mail but cannot read it. I can see the subjects but the preview pane is empty.
If I open the message in a new window it is still empty.
I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook Expess. I also did a full virus scan.
Any help would be greatly appretiated.

I have the same problem with OE on XP.
Can download messages and can see that the messages have size but cannot read what is in them either in preview pane or when opened.

If I view the same emials in any other client like Outlook or Netscape the same mails are readably.

I can also not tread the contents of mails that have previously been viewed in the past (before this weirdness happened)

Any ideas?

This usually is the result of spam email rewriting a needed DLL or making a registry change.

Step #1: do a thorough malware scan: faq608-4650
Step #2: Reinstall IE and OE:

Forum member smah suggested elsewhere that you could try a reregistration of a critical dll:

Start, Run, regsvr32 inetcomm.dll
