Recently I added an external "A" record and ptr for our Exchange 5.5 server. After adding those records users who connect via VPN are resolving to the external address and aren't able to connect because rpc is blocked on that address.
Once I add the address with the internal IP to the hosts file they connect fine.
When I go to one of the machines and do an nslookup I receive the internal dns server as the name server and the "A" record is set proper to the internal address.
For some reason outlook is resolving using my external dns server.
Any work around for this?
