I have a computer that points to the Server for DNS. The Server has a couple of DNS Forwarders to Bellsouths DNS servers.

For some unknown reason though, the computer tries to get its email and can't get out half of the time. Sometimes it finds it and sometimes it doesn't.

The only time it gets the email 100% is if I take the DNS server out of the Primary DNS slot and put in the Bellsouth DNS numbers.

Any Ideas??

If your mail is the only problem, and the Internet works fine, then here's a workaround and then address the problem.

Create a static record on the DNS server for the remote mail addresses, research the cause of the problem without the lack of productivity. Test your research in non-peak hours.

This could be a number of things from simple, to not-so-simple, what have you checked so far, what were the results?

Is this your only DNS server? Where is it physically located on the network, intermittent links? If it's not the only DNS server, are the others experiencing the same problem?

Any Help?
