Does anyone know of a solution or fix to keep MS Outlook from blocking Access files as an attachment? It sees the .mdb file as a security breach and blocks it from being sent or received.

Really? I'm sure I tried it with mine and it was ok. Does your database contain macros?

are you sure it's outlook doing it and not your server?? ask your system administration team if they have the server setup to disallow attachments like that...

I've seen setup's that only allowed zip files to pass through...

Life is change. To deny change is to deny life.

This is a security feature Microsoft added during Office 2000. If your databases are able to get through as attachments, that means you haven't added the patch. (Lucky you.)

I was looking for a work around.

You'll have to rename the file so that it doesn't end with .mdb, and tell the person receiving it to rename the file back to .mdb. Or just zip it up.

This is not an Access issue, it's an issue with mail servers of many types.
