Outlook attachments open very slowly

I have a user running Win 2k Pro with Office XP small business ed. For some reason, it takes a really long time for an attachment to open, no matter what type of attachement it is (i.e. Excel, Word, Adobe, etc.). The files attached are not big, but it takes an average of 45 sec. for an attachment to open the first time.

Any ideas?
