I'm trying to implement OWA and Outlook Anywhere for a new Exchange 2007 install. Purchased an SSL Cert with Subject Alternative Names and have it installed. Can access OWA internally. I'm assuming that I'll need to add an external DNS entry for email.company.com resolving to the firewall IP.
Is this correct?

Thanks in advance!

Yes and open port 443 through to the email server or if it is ISA use the OWA publishing wizard. Depending on the firewall you either install the cert on the firewall or the Exchange box.

Great. That's an A record, correct? And I'd need a DNS record for the autodiscover.company.com as well, correct? Anything else that would be needed?

A record - right.
autodiscover - you can but it isn't necessary for OWA/OA. May as well though whilst you are at it.

Can't think of anything else.

Pardon my ignorance as I'm not a DNS expert. I'm assuming that if I own "company.com" that I can create as many subdomains as I need without registering them, correct? So I can add "email.company.com" and "autodiscover.company.com" without any problems?

Subdomains - yes.
Those 2 - yes.
Personally, I'd add mail.company.com as well while you are there.

If you've not done it yet, I'd also suggest that you create an SPF record.

BTW, email.company.com and mail.company.com are not subdomains, but hosts (A-records).

server1.email.company.com and jackstraw.email.company.com would utilize a new "email" subdomain and two A-records for server1 and for jackstraw.
