Outlook and Citrix connectivity problems using VPN over DSL

Several users (including me) with Linksys routers and a DSL line are unable to connect to Exchange using Outlook or to connect to Citrix using the Citrix client through VPN from home. I know VPN is working because I can ping the Exchange server and Citrix servers by name, but I get connection errors when lauching Outlook or the Citrix client. To eliminate problems with the VPN client setup or the Linksys router I tested the same setup behind a cablemodem broadband connection and had NO problem whatsover. A couple of wierd things to note...I can successfully do a "check name" when creating a new Exchange profile through VPN. Also...all of these systems were working in their current setup until about a month ago. Nothing has changed on our firewall. Anyone have any suggestions?
