I've been using Firefox on XP since it was first available and it is set as my default browser, but whenever I click on a URL in an email in Outlook 2003, it launches IE6 instead.

Anyone know why? It's mildly annoying.

Cheers.

Open Windows Explorer, click on Tools | Folder Options | File Types
Scroll down to: URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol
Is Thunderbird the application set to handle this protocol?

If not, try this:

Close Firefox
Now make IE your default browser
Close IE
Open Firefox and make it your default browser

Thanks for that. I'd already tried changing default browser to IE and then back to Firefox, but to no avail.

Editing the 'open' settings of the URL file types did the trick though.

Obviously another Microsoft loophole to get you to use IE ;-)
