outlook 2003 won't send email

Hi longhair. Sorry for not answering sooner. I was at work committing a sin. Posting on this site instead of working. Anyway, I have Dialup. (Because I don't want to spend 40.00 a month.)I set the smtp to 587 and followed all the instructions>It worked less than a week ago. I get the send/receive in the tool bar but nothing happens. I don't even see the task error message window with the codes. It's gone. How do I get that back? I am thinking of just doing a complete systems restore and using Earthlink. I hear they are better than AOL. I just want to be able to use the Office 2003 program without my ISP hijacking the program. Thank you for caring

can you view your mail online and confirm that there is something in the mail box?
since you are using dial up can you confirm that when you try to access mail that you are connected to the net?
do this by having your broswer (ie, aol, firefox, etc) on a web page then attempt to download your mail.
if you are connected, followed the instructions, get no help from customer service and still can't download your mail a system restore may solve the problem.
i don't use aol - i use earthlink - much better customer service.

I can only view my email at AOL. I tried the pinging and it shows that Office Outlook is not configured. Yet everything is in the email acct when I check it. I have a disc coming from Earthlink and then I will do another complete systems restore so I can get rid of all the AOL. I want to thank you for taking tht time to reply to me.
