Outlook 2003 Wants Outlook 2000 CD

Hi, all!

I have an interesting problem that has me stumped. Perhaps someone here has the answer? All of our users run Office 2003. One user in particular just got a new CPU (her old one died and I swapped it out while I work on it). On her old unit, everything was kosher. However, the new unit is asking to install something off the Office 2000 CD - despite only having Office 2003 installed. It does this every time she opens an email! What could be the problem??

Are you 100% sure that machine wasn't "upgraded" FROM 2000 TO 2003? I still wouldn't think that would cause that problem, but it's a thought.

Have you tried running Office Repair on that machine to possibly fix the error that way?

Okay, I found the problem!!

Thanks, kjv, for your suggestion - it got me moving in the right direction.

Apparently at some point, someone had installed 2000 on this computer - it was supposed to be completely cleaned before swapped, but apparently someone missed something.

There was a "piece" (like 98 MB) of 2000 still installed. I uninstalled it and JOY!
