Outlook 2003 server side filter 1

Hello there, I was using Pocomail recently and it had a nifty feature which allowed me to run filters before and/or after my messages are downloaded.

Having searched fairly thoroughly, I could only manage to get Outlook to apply filters only after my messages have been downloaded. Hence my question is if there is a way to get Outlook to apply filters direclty on messages on the server before they are downloaded.

Unfortunately Outlook (when used as a standalone mail client) has no idea what the messages on the server are, until those messages are downloaded. Therefore, it can not run rules on what it does not know about.
