Here is the setup:
Outlook 2003 w/latest service packs, attaching to an Exchange 2003 server in cached mode. Had to restore some messages the other day from backup.
Problem:
When going into Tools - Rules and Alerts, it is asking me if I want to use Client or Server rules. When I say server, it comes back with the warning about rule size and having too many rules. When the rules popup, I should see 10 rules but instead have 20 because the original 10 have been duplicated. When I try to delete the rules and then apply, it comes back and ask if I want to update server or client. If I update the server, it comes back with the size limit error again and then shows all 20 rules again.
I have tried the following:
1. Delete and recreate profile
2. Start - Run - Outlook /cleanrules
3. Start - Run - Outlook /cleanserverrules
Nothing works. I keep getting the duplicated rules. Unless someone can come up with an idea, am thinking about archiving all the messages and then deleting the mailbox off the server.
Let me know if someone has a fix.
Thanks
