Outlook 2003 File As when Importing Contacts

Outlook 2003 attempting to import contacts from Excel.

In Outlook, I have the "File As" set to Last, First (Company) - via Tools > Options, Contact Options. It works great when I create contacts manually. But when importing contacts from an Excel file, I get Last First.

Can anyone offer any suggestions to help me avoid having to change the "File as" manually for each contact imported?

In case some one else is faced with this, searches and finds this thread, I offer this:

Some one here talked to MS support for an hour and reported back to me that this is not fixable. They will be manually changing the File As for 2000 contacts.

This was created for Outlook 2000, but also works for 2003. I ran into the same problem, and this worked for me.
