Hi,
I need to set up a distribution list that won't show to poeple i email.

For Example, If i email "Marketing Team" i would like the email to show up as sent to "Marketing Team" with the people i sent it to not see anything but "Marketing Team"

I'm tried everything i know, anyone got any tips?

Thanks

Did you try adding the Group to the BCC field?

ya that's ok, but i want it to display "Marketing Team" as the 'to' to the group that receives the email. :(

If you are running Exchange as your email server, there's a way. However, if not, then I'm guessing not. Not natively in Outlook anyway. Maybe your specific in-house email server has a way to add groups, and maybe your email admin can figure it out, but I don't see a way using a Personal DL.

I do have MS Exchange server, please tell me how.

thanks

You really don't need Exchange server, just create a new friendly contact in your address book named "Marketing Team". The address to use for this new contact will be your own. Put the "Marketing Team" address in the To: field, and your recipient group in the Bcc: field

A few of the past threads about this:
thread68-1161169 Outlook: Sending eMailshot but not revealing all addresses
thread605-925815 Outlook Express Mailing List

Thanks Steve! That will be my short-term run around.

Pat! thanks for the article. I support an office of 40 with an external department taking care of our exchange server. I will forward this article on but do you have any quick steps that I could explain to them to set up a distribution list without viewing the list just the title? ie. "Marketing Team"

Any quick pointers would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Just ask them to create a global distribution list, named "Marketing Team", and ask them to hide the members. Also, ask them to give you admin privileges over that group so you can add/remove members as you need.

Might also ask them to set it so only YOU can send email TO that group, if that's a concern.
