Basically, the Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to reach Rich Text e-mail messages setting checkbox clears everytime I restart Outlook.

----

I sent myself a rich text email - identified by the content having the text formatted with the Shimmer Text Effect.

When previewing it in Outlook, the shimmer is not visible. When opening it, the shimmer is not visible.

If I go to Tools->Options->Mail Format and check the box marked: "Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to reach Rich Text e-mail messages"
Then read a couple of emails then open my shimmer email - I CAN see the shimmer.

However, when I restart Outlook, the box is unchecked again.

Any ideas?

Just a quick thought when reading your post, is the Shimmer font on your machine? If you go into the control panel, fonts is the font listed if not windows doesn't know how to display the font. You would need to get hold/download the font and install. I have just checked the machine I am using at the moment at work that has Office 2003 and XP Pro and I don't have this font as a standard font that comes with either package.

It's not a font - it's a Text Effect.

It works with all fonts.

If you open a new doc in word, and Format->Font then click the Text Effects tab you can choose it.
