Outlook 2002-Multiple return receipts

Hi all,
One of our users is getting multiple return receipt messages from one sender when she presses the Send/Receive button (Outlook 2002 in Office XP Small Business Edition). The receipts build up until she closes Outlook. Its now in the hundreds (400+)total. Have applied all latest SP's and Office updates. Could it be coming from the sender's side?
