We have an OS on a hard drive that was swapped into a new PC, and Windows XP and Office XP were then reinstalled in repair mode.

Now Outlook won't connect to the Exchange server for 2 different mailboxes, but connectivity to these mailboxes from other PCs is fine. Pinging the server name resolves without issue to the IP address, and the responsies come back as normal. Normal IP connectivity seems fine.

Any ideas?

You may want to put an entry into your LMHOSTS that resolves your Exchange server...

ie:

123.456.78.90 EXCHSRV1

Are the rest of your workstations running XP?

Yeah, that has already been done - all resolutions work fine. I rebooted the server too as another thread mentioned that may do the trick but it made no difference.

Most of the other desktops are XP.
