Outlook 2002 calendar between exchange and non-exchange user

One of my customer is migrating to exchange. Currently, one part of the personal is already on exchange and the other part is using an old pop system.
We have currently a problem using the calendaring function of outlook: wenn a non-exchange user send an invitation to an exchange user, all work fine; wenn an exchange user send an invitation to a non-exchange user, outlook does not reconnize the email as invitation !!! Why ? Kind regards - Vincent
