Hi,
We know Outlook 2001 fairly well, and have done it on many computers but we're stomped with this one G4, OS 9.2.2. The e-mail server is Exchange 2003, and TCP/IP setup is DHCP. The computer can access shared folders on another server (Win 2000 server) with no problem. The profile on Outlook works once right after the setup, and sometimes remain functional until the computer is restarted. We've tried using both the server's IP address and the UNC path, and got the same problem. It seems like Outlook can't resolve the server name after the reboot; therefore, it can't authenticate the user's log in. When we went to the properties of the Exchange account on the profile, we weren't able to do the "Check name," unless we changed the server's NetBIOS name to its IP address. Then, again, Outlook automatically changed it back to NetBIOS name. My thought is that if we can keep the server's IP address from being changed to its name, it may work. Nevertheless, the other computers use NetBIOS name, and everything works fine. So, it has to be this particular computer.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

Control Panels, Network. Fill in the search domain box. See if that helps.

Thanks Zelandakh.
We've tried that, too, but no luck. We just installed it on a different computer with OS 9.1 and it works fine. Problem 9.2.2, perhaps?

Not one I've ever had. The 9.1 that works, upgrade it to 9.2.2 and see if it still works - it should.
