Have you checked out the profile first to see what is setup in the profile? You may need to delete the profile and recreate it. joegz

Tim,

Outlook 2K has a built-in tool that scans your PST during startup if any errors have been logged. When you try to open it, does it hang at the splash screen that says "Outlook 2000"? Before you hit CTRL-ALT-DEL, is your hard drive doing anything (constant activity)?

If so, then you need to let it finish. This may take up to 20-30 minutes depending on the size of your PST, but it will eventually open. Try not to interrupt it by hitting CTRL-ALT-DEL unless the hard drive light goes off and activity ceases.

hi managed to sort this out by finding and runing scapst this seemed to fix my in box and all was OK

But i have seen outlook offering to start in safe mode how can i do this
