The client application seems to lock up on one computer but after a few seconds the mail is sent.

what could be the cause?

I've re-installed outlook and changed RAM

Dreamboat..

I ran the inbox repair also but still slow. When i send internal it seems quicker than an internet e-mail. Could it be a card? cable?

Does that mean you DID run Detect and Repair under the Help menu? Sorry--it's not clear.

Also, I would suspect that internal mail will ALWAYS travel faster than internet mail. Just as an intranet site will always load faster (I hope) than internet sites.

What kind of installation of Outlook do you have? Corporate Workgroup or Internet Mail Only? Is it freezing only when he is sending mail? joegz

Outlook 2000 corporate. When you press send it stalls for a minute or two and then sends it out.

Which editor is being used? First try using the plain text editor to see if you get the same behavior. joegz
